Mobile optimization isn’t a big surprise – indeed, but it’ll continue to be a focal point when we talk about SEO in 2022. By this year, it’s safe to say that all SEO is mobile SEO. All SEO practices will mainly focus on providing a positive site experience to mobile users, making it easier to find and scroll through the content they want to consume.

It is so because mobile device usage has skyrocketed in the past few years. Based on Statista, mobile internet traffic accounts for more than 55% of total web traffic. The staggering number shows that it’s not all about making your content look more readable on smaller screens but also helping search engines decide what kinds of queries you should rank for.

2. Long-Form Content

Long-form content isn’t going away anytime soon. Throughout the years, we’ve seen pages with at least 1,000 words rank high on Google. Today, many sites have gone the extra mile and have published content with at least 2,000-3,000 words. However, that doesn’t mean that you should focus solely on the word count. Remember to create content your readers will find valuable.

In 2022, long-form content will continue to reign. So, content creators should create at least 1,000 words per article but continue to provide value for their readers. It can be done by thorough research and focusing on specific niches to ensure that the articles can reach the right audiences.

3. Video Marketing

I think the next SEO trend in 2022 is video marketing. We all know that YouTube has had significant growth over the past years. It’s now second behind Google as the largest search engine on the internet. With over 1 billion monthly active users, YouTube has become the number one in video searching.

Moreover, video content now makes up 82% of overall internet traffic. Users find it easier when receiving information through videos than other types of content. You can also use Google Adwords for your video marketing campaign.

Investing in a video marketing strategy will help you boost your SEO rank. Videos are accessible and shareable across multiple social platforms, allowing yourself to be found easily. It enables the search engine to identify your content and put it on the top of search results.

SEO Blogging Tools That Works

1. Canva

Canva is a powerful blogging tool I rely the most on. This tool makes it easier for me to create visuals to complement my blog posts or articles, making them more appealing and readable. It also helps me to communicate my message better to my audience.

The best thing about Canva is that it’s easy to use. I’m not a graphic design wizard, but I don’t even need design skills to get the most out of it with its simple drag and drop interface. From image quotes to featured images to even simple infographics, Canva takes care of my blog visuals.

2. Grammarly

Grammarly is one of the best blogging tools we have discovered. To make a great first impression for readers, having impeccable grammar is key. No one wants to stay and read your article if it’s full of typos and has no headings.

With Grammarly, we have saved so much proofreading time and spent it more on crafting content that matters. Grammarly helps take the guesswork out of figuring out which sentences work and which words to choose, so we can focus more on sharing valuable information.

3. Yoast SEO

I’d go for Yoast SEO. This tool allows me to create SEO-optimized content, which is important for every blogger. With Yoast SEO, I can point out which part of my writing needs to be revised to improve the SEO score.

Yoast SEO will mark it with green color when I pass all the SEO requirements. Or a red color to signify that I’ve got to improve my writing.

Final thoughts:

As we all know, SEO is an important factor in determining our page discoverability. When our content isn’t SEO-optimized, it’s hard to land on the first result page, let alone having traffic from it. Therefore, Yoast SEO helps bloggers a lot in improving on-page SEO.
